No! You’re Doing It Wrong!
Try to remember the last thing in your writing that didn’t work out.
How did you react to it?
Most people, when it comes to “mistakes”, they get tense and angry. Angry at someone else or angry at themselves.
What if you could – instead of seeing it as something negative and punishing yourself emotionally for it – see “mistakes” as learning steps? As way points on your way to greatness?
Did you think you could become a great writer without making mistakes in the process?
The next time when something doesn’t work out, celebrate it. Give yourself a literal or internal hug. You’re great! Because what you’ve just found is an area where you will be great in the future!
There are writers who write scripts after scripts after script, or books after books after books, but they don’t develop. The fiftieth book has the same quality as the first one.
Don’t be one of those who don’t develop. Be thankful for your mistakes. For the things that don’t work out.
They make you the great writer you will be in the future!
How do get rid of that angry reaction to mistakes?
